In 2014, our Pastors, Joel and Emma moved from England to Kuala Lumpur with a sense of calling, and some heritage thanks to Joel’s Grandparents who were pioneer missionaries in the 1950’s and 60’s. What followed was slow and steady — week by week, room by room, God gathered people. Worship grew. The team got stronger and decisions for Jesus led to our first baptisms.

We were known as Hope City KL, but in 2020 our multisite locations opted to become autonomous C3 Churches. The pandemic meant we were closed to public services for 19 months. In that online only season, God refined us and gave new vision for a new chapter. We weren’t just here to point people to hope, we were all called to be carriers of it, as Saints.

So in late 2023, we stepped into a new name: SAINTS. Not because we had outgrown something, but because God was refining us — calling us back to who we are in Him.

The name comes from Ephesians 4:12:

“To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”

Paul doesn’t reserve the word "saints" for the spiritually elite — he uses it for everyday believers. People like us, made new by Jesus.

We chose the name Saints because it reflects that truth. We’re not perfect — but we’ve been saved, set apart, and sent into the world by grace.

We are part of the global C3 Church Global movement — a family of over 620 Spirit-led churches committed to planting churches and releasing people into their purpose. It’s our honour to serve the people of Kuala Lumpur and beyond towards a vision of seeing 1 million worshippers gathered across the globe through C3.

This church began with borrowed chairs and big faith. Over the years, we’ve met in homes, shop lots, malls, studios, and online. Each step forward has been marked by God’s provision.

There have been seasons of growth and challenge, stretching and rebuilding. But through it all, God has been faithful — providing the right people, the right place, the right word.

Saints is still a church becoming. Still growing, still learning, still leaning on grace. The same God who brought us here is leading us forward.

God is moving — drawing people in, deepening faith, and stirring hearts to serve. As Saints, each of us has a part to play.
