We serve in response to our generous God.
It’s not about obligation — it’s our honour. Every time we volunteer, we reflect the heart of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve.
Serving is how we build His house, grow in purpose, and love people with our lives.
How we serve matters. God cares more about our attitudes than our actions. We’re defined the attitudes we want to carry in our Team Culture.
Culture either happens by default or by design, so rather than allowing popular culture, our feelings or our upbringing to take the lead, we look to Jesus to see the kind of team we want to create. If it’s not Christ-like, we don’t want it in our culture.
HUNGRY FOR GOD
We seek more of God and we hunger for his presence.
We build his kingdom with our very best.Â
We’re self-feeders and we take initiative.Â
We’re full of faith for God to do more in us and through us.
We’re bold, without being pushy or aggressive.
HUMBLE IN HEART
We’re open hearted and teachable.
We remember we’re only in the kingdom by the pure grace of Jesus.
We think of ourselves less and others more.
We’re gentle, without being timid.
THOUGHTFUL FOR OTHERS
We’re intentional about how we can show the love of God to others.
We deliberately slow down to build personal relationships.
We treat people as individuals, and not as projects.
We put care, attention and diligence into all of our kingdom work.
We’re thoughtful, without being hesitant.
Each of us has been created uniquely by God. Ideally, we’ll all serve in areas that suit our gifting. We use a free online tool called The Spiritual Gifts Survey that is helpful in determining your God-given gift. We recommend you take the survey to learn more about your gifting.Â
